About Shalomnet

Numerous programs helping seniors better leverage technology to communicate and acquire information.

Specialty Topic Workshops

Specialty topic workshops are one-day workshops that focus on specific computer subjects. Topics for the upcoming winter session include:

  • Internet Shopping Workshop
  • Email Workshop
  • Buying a Personal Computer
  • Making Computer Presentations (PowerPoint)
  • Enhancing Greeting Cards
  • Backing Up Your Computer Files
  • Slide Shows from your Photographs
  • eBay

Our Computer Learning Centers are people-powered and empowering in that they not only train Seniors, but also teach them to become trainers themselves, providing a means for Seniors to reinvest their learning in the human capital of their peers. Real time connections are made as Seniors -- through peer tutoring in the workshops -- help each other join the technological revolution.

graduationAnother exciting "community" component of our program is its cross-generational link, provided through a facet we call "Seniors to Seniors." Here high school seniors can fulfill their community service graduation requirement by volunteering as tech mentors in our workshops.
